Samy & Morning News

Although I rarely believe what is said & done over the local dailies, it is still interesting to see the various “spins” coming on behalf the government (especially with election looming close by).

Not to be missed from these spins lately is the statements from the MIC supremo, Samy Vellu – fast “we are Indians” statements on consecutive days really left me laughing in disbelief of the MIC’s attempts to “fix” the damage that Hindraf did (much to our relief) to them last year. You really need to read to see how low some people willing to go to “candy coat” the real problems without even considering themselves as the main source of the problems. Let’s look at these statements in light of recent events.

Statement 1

Samy Vellu: My door is always open to Indians

Indians, especially youths and professionals, are always welcome to bring any problem they face to the MIC president

Again, it looks like only the “President” and not the party can solve the problem faced by Indians. Professionals should know better of MIC’s “tried and trusted method” of solving problems – by consolidating them into a file and pass it to the PM to read it (during dinner time?). Tough luck if anyone wishes to see quick solutions to problems passed on to MIC.

Appreciating the role of Indian youths as “people who have the courage and wisdom to bring changes to the community,” he said the party was not making promises merely to canvass for support from the Indians.

Ya right – when was the last time a politician DID NOT make empty promises to gain votes and political mileage. What more with a party like MIC which the President holding on to the post like a “leech during the mating season”. Remember a promise called “Maika Holdings”?

“MIC will strive to bring justice and fairness for them through the Government by taking the necessary actions,” he said.

Ha ha ha, my foot is laughing…seriously! Samy, just fulfil the old promises to “bring justice and fairness” and perhaps we can ask you for your 2 cents words. Wait, wait…no need, no need – just start with seriously working on the temple issues and perhaps I will ask my foot to stop laughing.

Admitting that there had been several weaknesses in the Government’s implementation and delivery system that led to Indians sometimes losing out in various fields, he said the party would rectify them.

When & how? Humour us, Samy – come on, give us some hints. Aren’t you politicians love to “play” around the bush on this issue?

“There are weaknesses, but they can and will be corrected,” he said, adding that Indians needed to unite to protect their future.

Yes, we are! We are united – against MIC and all race based political party. We don’t need racists running our destiny – never, ever!

Statement 2

Speak with one voice, Indians told

Malaysian Indians must unite for the good of everyone because it is the key to their future, MIC president Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu said yesterday.

Yes, we had thank Hindraf for that – thanks Samy for reminding us

He said they must work as a team and not allow themselves to become tools of those who wish to split the community for their own agenda.

Hmm, this definitely sounds like MIC and it’s President – what do you think?

“There are many more things to be done, many more challenges to overcome,” he said in a press statement in conjunction with Ponggal festival, which begins today.

Perhaps we can start with overthrowing MIC from our minds and votes

“When we speak with one voice, we will achieve our goals. When we act with one determination, nothing can stop us from fulfilling our dreams.”

Prove to us – start talking to the UMNO buggers on some concession for the Indians in this country. I am sure, if the MIC buggers start speaking with one voice (Samy’s), they can achieve their goals. Then again, isn’t this reminds you of Hindraf when they went down to the streets of KL, determined to highlight the issues facing the Indians in this country? For a moment, I thought I was reading a statement from Hindraf leaders. Sigh.

He added the party would never bow to pressure because the MIC existed solely for the well-being of the Indian community

Damn, all this while, I thought MIC existed solely for the well-being of its President – I must have been wrong now that the President have explained on MIC well and clear. But are they? Otherwise it would have welcomed other Indians groups into BN and worked with Hindraf closely on the “Indian” issues. Right?

Samy Vellu said the community must appreciate all opportunities given to them and make full use of them.

What is there to appreciate? I thought we are all Malaysians entitled to all opportunities irregardless of political party’s affiliation. In fact these buggers should be grateful to the people for voting them – year in, year out. So, anyone who say that the opportunities that we get these days is due to political party’s charity – they can “fuck-off” – we can be better and greater without these buggers around.

“As we work towards attaining our dreams and goals, we must not forget those who are in need of help – the poor and the disabled,” he said.

Look whose talking! With MAIKA scandal, many poor and disabled people was indeed forgotten and silenced

At least not all is lost, there was some good news in the papers – one that made my day was the one titled “Mat Rempit dies in bid to escape cops”. I pray more of them will have a painful & slow death.

Short is Samy’s memory and long are the sufferings of the ordinary Indians lot in Malaysia. Samy has the audacity to ask “What Money?” he has siphoned off; conveniently ignored the many questions the Maika fiasco had raised that had shamed him and the Hanky-Panky in Telekom Shares that went to the three companies representing the “interests” of the Indian community. What was Samy role in this debacle? Why did he prevent this wealth from reaching Maika? For the Personal Greed & Gain of his relatives?. What went wrong for a venture that took off in a blaze of glory? Why the “God Sent money” did not reach the rightful Indians?

I am not here to support Uncle Sam (u DO know about my rants before), but there was this incident concerning my fren wic i’d like to share.

“S” had problems wit fees during her term in XXX Uni while doing pre-med. Initial loan applications from MIED were rejected. After setting up a private meeting wit Uncle Sam, he actually approved her loan from MIED. Now, 1 factor MIGHT have contributed to the loan approval: she was studying in XXX Uni wic is Sam’s uni (u shud know wic uni). But I cant fail to mention the loan repayment’s interest rate wic is cutthroat.

As I know, a few (NOTE THE WORD: A FEW) students from XXX Uni have “benefited” from such loans after meetings wit the self-proclaimed Saviour of Indians.

For the sake of discussion, is this wat Uncle Sam said about helping Indians?

Actually the “President” have helped people but was it a charity? Help a few and boast that all Indians have been helped.
