Cut to the chase lah

(Anwar – what is his game plan in the next few weeks till September 2008? Image source: http://bigdogdotcom.wordpress.com)
As if things could not get messier, the PI has now gone missing, adding more comedy mystery into the plot…
In the meantime, certainly things are working in favour of Pak Lah – his two biggest oppositions to his PM post, Najib & Anwar is fighting themselves out – wasting time, energy and perhaps money to mudsling each other.
On the onset, it does appear like Anwar has an edge over Najib but by no means is a clear winner.
The same observation made by RPK in his Malaysia Today:-
Yes, this looks bad for Najib, as well as for Anwar. And it certainly looks like Najib is behind the second SD as well as the sodomy allegation against Anwar — while Anwar, in turn, is seen as behind the first SD that links Najib to Altantuya.
In one swoop, both Najib and Anwar are brought down. And this means Abdullah has now rid himself of two serious problems. And with these two serious threats neutralised Abdullah can now take care of the lesser threats of Tengku Razaleigh and Muhyiddin.
Yes, it looks like Abdullah will still be Umno President and Prime Minister of Malaysia come Christmas. I would not have said this three weeks ago but today I say this with confidence.
And while Najib and Anwar finish each other off, Abdullah is giggling in the background and choosing the Christmas tree that he will erect in Putrajaya come December. Well done, Pak Lah. Brilliant moves.
Now let’s see how Najib and Anwar extricate themselves from the mess they are currently in.
Certainly it looks like Anwar will be spending considerable time on “road shows” to clean up his name (he even echoed the same thing in the last public rally) and some quarters are worried that Anwar will be distracted from the original mission – i.e. to take over the Government on September 16.
Certainly it looks like so on paper but should we be worried on this?
Look at Anwar. He did not stand in the last general election – he is not a MP or State Assemblyman. He is not appointed to any position in any “large firms” or government agencies other than being the advisor to PKR and Pakatan Rakyat.
Anwar certainly have all the time to go on road shows.
The PI by doing the 2nd SD have done more damage to Najib (irregardless whether Najib is involved or not). Of course the 1st SD and 2nd SD might be irrelevant to an extent if Razak denies such conversations have take place and the PI is no where to be found.
In the meantime, Anwar should cut to the chase and keep his September 16 deadline on target. This country has seen enough “sodomy” of public funds, racial biasness and wasted development opportunities.
Another clown act is just the last thing we need right now.
